Capabilities

The instructors at LSA North, Inc. hold many, and varied, advanced ratings and endorsements.  We are able to instruct in many different aircraft.  If you need instruction in your own aircraft, or would like to rent one of ours, please call or email us to discuss your personal training needs.

Tyra J. Cerny, CFI, AGI, IGI is a graduate of Inver Hills College Professional Pilot Program.  Tyra has been a pilot since 2004.  In addition to an Associate in Science degree, Professional Pilot, she has a double Bachelor of Science in Business Aviation Management and Biology from Metropolitan State University.

She obtained her private pilot certificate in 2004, Instrument rating, 2004, Commercial Pilot certificate 2005, Certified Flight Instructor, 2005, Advanced Ground Instructor, 2005, and Instrument Ground Instructor 2007 at Wings Inc., St. Paul, MN.  In 2007 she obtained her Technologically Advanced Airplane (TAA) Glass Cockpit G1000 FITS Training Certification at Sunstate Aviation, Kissimmee, FL.  Additionally, she has been invited to be a co-moderator for the FAA Wings program in the Minneapolis region conducting Flight Instructor and Designated Pilot Examiner training on the Sport Pilot certificate.

Tyra J. Cerny is a Physical Therapist with a strong background and specialties in Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Esthetics (Orthotics), Aqua Therapy, Hippo Therapy, as well as a Certified Hippo Therapist Instructor.  In the past, she has been invited to take part and to be part of a specialized medical team to go to Haiti.

As a community volunteer, she is a part of a specialized aircrew; Search and Rescue Mission Scanner, Observer, and Transport Pilot for the United States Air Force Auxiliary, The Civil Air Patrol with the rank of Captain.

Tyra has over 500+ flight hours, and logged over 200+ simulator training hours.  She is currently a simulator instructor for two area flight schools.  Tyra is the lead advanced ground instructor for LSA North, Inc. and Stick-n-Rudder Flight Training, LLC.  You will be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable, and thorough, ground instructor.  Tyra will make sure that you are prepared and ready for any knowledge test challenge.
